The Original is Still The BestI've been buying this book for years and it is still the best guide to all the strip clubs and porn shops in New York. I like that they cover the whole city, not just Manhattan like most guides.

Short Bike Rides in Eastern Pennsylvania
Published in Paperback by Globe Pequot Press (May, 1993)
Average review score:

An excellent guide to great rides that I'd never have foundFor an urban dweller, this handy little book provides a great insight into beautiful rural areas. Without the book's guidance, I never would have thought to go bicycling in Eagles Mere, Wellsboro, or Thompsontown, but each ride proved delightful. The directions are excellent, and the writer gives a nice little insight into each place that he describes. Pennsylvania has many wonderful places to ride, and this book will take you to many of them.

Average review score:

A beautiful photographic work of SoHoSteve Kahn has captured the essence of SoHO-the old the new, the chic the artsy. His photographics are crisp and inviting, imaginative and creative. I've been to SoHo many times but never viewed it through so many different angles. Bravo, Mr. Kahn. What a marvelous job!

Average review score:

Best book around on southcentral PennsylvaniaWhen my grandma saw this beautiful book, she wanted to move back to Harrisburg where she was born. I just keep picking this book up and looking some more. The essays and pictures of the Susquehanna River and the towns along it elicit pride and nostalgia for rural/small-town Pennsylvania

Time Out New York's Guide to Eating & Drinking 2001
Published in Paperback by Time Out New York (16 October, 2000)
Especially useful are pen and ink drawings of outstanding structures in this remarkably well-preserved and carefully restored slice of Victoriana-by-the-sea. Many of the drawings are taken from the beautifully-rendered Historic American Buildings Survey of Cape May. Others come from the author's own hands.
This slender volume is neither a full-scale history of Cape May nor a scholarly discussion of the town's architects and builders (for that, one should consult Emil Salvini's "Cape May: Summer City by the Sea" and Thomas & Doebley's "Cape May: Queen of the Seaside Resorts").
But for a lovingly written and charmingly illustrated traveler's companion, this small book is just about perfect. It is a model of the sort of well-researched yet non-academic guidebook which enhances the appreciation of our nation's historic districts for tourists, newcomers, and long-term residents alike.
